the new miles - no - such things are not possible, any more than someone being the new beatles...culture is too fragmented - name an artist that "everyone likes" the way that everyone loved the beatles, stones, dylan, etc... which is simultaneously cool and sad...it's coolt hat there is so much going on - it's sad that there does not seem to be a "voice of the generation" in either jazz or pop music - the way miles or the beatles were...

but molvaer is truly an innovative and creative musician - someone whose music is "today" - yet not trendy - a keeper...
