elektroplankton

my copy of elektroplankton arrived yesterday from japan...it is not a game, per se, but a way to make interesting visuals/sounds...very hard to describe

at the risk of sounding pretentious, i would describe this as interactive art - apparently it was unveiled at a tokyo art gallery

kudos to nintendogal who pointed me to play-asia where i ordered this...

Ooo I'm glad it came in the mail safely for you. Let me know how it is after you've finished experimenting with it!

my initial impression is that it is quite mesmerizing. i think one needs to be a certain kind of person to really like it - i mean - it has no "point" per se - but the graphics and music are quite beautiful and intriguing... i have heard some say that it is fun for a while - but, i think those are the people who are looking more for a destination than a journey - not to criticize them - everyone plays games for their own reasons...i like it a lot and it was great fun watching my daughter just playing and experimenting with it and discovering things... my favorite - the one that distorts sound many diff ways - and the one where you bounce the fish off the plants - also the one where you use the stylus to move arrows around the create a path/sounds...and there's the one where....
;-)

i'll let you know if it holds it charm...
