your assistance requested...

i am having my class do an activity where they evaluate the design of several websites in order to develop a list of design principles. i want to include good and bad examples. if you have a favorite example of good or bad web design please post in the comments. note: for the most part, i want corporate sites. it's not really fair to pick on personal sites...

Well I'm not one for the positive right now as I'm still trying to explore what makes a real decent design, however I can provide 2 bad sites.

www.ign.com - Do I need to say anything about this?

www.guildwars.com - Having to click on things to get more menu options always seemed a bit like trying to sweep things under the rug for company.

thanks...
you can learn a lot by looking at badly designed sites - plus it's more fun...

Bad
http://www.americanlumber.net/
Bad navigation, intro page, color scheme, scrolling text, frames, page scrolls, no tagline, logo variation, no welcome statement, sites home page is the history?, doesn’t promote anything on the home page.

Good
http://www.adiamondisforever.com/
Good navigation, color scheme, powerful tagline
Nice and clean, menus break if JavaScript is disabled but have alternative pages…
highlights special services on the home page..
Text doesn’t resize which is bad..could include a welcome statement
Overall is excellent site though
