was looking up some of the lyrics of bowie's changes - found them here - and there seems to be a lively and quite amusing discussion about what i always had heard as "turn and face the strain"

Two photo projects are taking up much of my creative energy:

365 Day Self Portrait - One self portrait a day for a year

and if that doesn't make you excited, and face it, who will get excited at the prospect of a year's worth self portraits of me - or for that matter - a day's worth....

365 Day Tree Project - One pic of one of my face trees - a Japanese Maple - for a year...

Still early in both - so get on the bandwagon early....

Frankly, flickr has increasingly become my outline for online interaction

diet change?

I am considering dropping my vegetarian diet to include some meat and fish...

I don't know - I have the sense I have not been eating well lately and body is suffering... I know it is possible to eat a well-balanced vegetarian dietr, but I don't think I am. I know the Dalai Lama, based on doctor's orders eats some meat...

On the other hand - I don't know...

any advice, encouragement etc would be appreciated...

pardon the bad french and pretention. a fave painting of mine is magrite's ceci n'est pas une pipe. Well this is not me - not even a photo of me - a photo of my image on a screen. somehow abstracting magrite one level further seems to make sense in this digital/virtual age.

Weekends for me (which nearly always include friday - a perk of teaching) is about balancing R&R with getting done all the tasks I can't get to during the work week. Given my recent stomach bug, the focus so far has been on rest, but have a few things to do later - including a reception for a charity auction for which I donated a photo.

Adults are as vulnerable to peer pressure as anyone. Everyone else, it seems is doing the 365 project, so I must as well. I plan on creating images by a variety of methods - whatever works for the day...This was taken on my mac book using the built in iSight camera i PhotoBooth.

So, why schlumpy? Had a mild case of food poisoning yesterday - after eating cheese ravioli at a very nice restaurant. Prime suspect: alfredo sauce. Not to be deterred, I am back on the horse today - enjoyed a frozen Stouffers fettucine alfredo - pack my lunches in advance so this is what I had. Headache today. Last day teaching this week. Am teaching 4 days a week over summer term, which in retrospect, might have been a bit too much - as for us faculty, summer ought to be a time for renewal and to work on projects we can't get to during the year. So here i am - staring at laptop between classes waiting for lunch to heat.
