after listening to northern state's two cd's on napster premium, i decided to download them...
i urge you all to give this witty, hip, socially conscious band a listen...gotta love a crew that features a member named hesta prynn. i've heard them described as a female beastie boys, which is both somewhat accurate and somewhat unfair - they are witty, smart and literate like the beasties - but they are definitely their own artists... lyrically, i'm reminded a bit of nellie mckay - but perhaps that's just me...
